Movie Review of Shanghai. Dibakar Banerjee’s new film Shanghai is laden with delectable irony and simmering drama, but at its heart is a story that leaves one decidedly unmoved.

Director Dibakar Banerjee’s film Shanghai hopes to raise a pertinent question about the inexorable march of economic progress that sometimes mows down the human values and lives itself.

In exactly 2 weeks Shanghai will be releasing in all the theatres. The theatrical trailer and songs have created a worldwide buzz amongst fans. Shanghai has been the hot property since the time it came in news for the first time.

The makers of Shanghai have released a brand new poster of the movie. It is completely different from the first poster and features Emraan Hashmi, Kalki Koechlin and Abhay Deol. The new poster is launched via digital medium on all the official social media properties of Shanghai.

Shanghai is all set to release on 8th June, 2012. The movie is directed by Dibakar Banerjee and even features Bengali film star Prosenjit Chatterjee in it.

EMRAAN HASHMI’S SUFI LOVE SONG 'KHUDAAYA'

The love song beautifully highlights Emraan Hashmi and Kalki Koechlin’s love chemistry. The actor is bartending at a pub and sees a girl who resembles Kalki from the back, but when he goes to the girl to see her face, he realizes that she is not the one he is searching for.

"IMPORTED KAMARIYA" IN ‘SHANGHAI’

Coming to the item babe, Dibakar Banerjee has already praised her for her dancing and looks. Scarlett Melish Wilson is a known face on TV because she appears in several commercials, and has danced well in this song, which is actually a satire on Indian people’s fascination for fair-skinned girls from abroad. You can understand why this is so with the lyrics, “Mori Imported Kamariya chaant ke aayee duniya, Welcome welcome karti India jaan le gayi.” Thus the item number has a situational relevance in the film.
